Graduates Dances
The dances are back! Yes, the dance season kicks off with a dance on November 18! The dates for the remaining dances are January 20, February 17, March 17 and April 21. Admission is $10.00 which covers the cost of the DJ, pizza, snacks and refreshments. Our dancers’ favorite DJ Lenny will be returning!
Parent volunteers are greatly appreciated to help set up refreshments and chaperone our great dancers. Please call Barbara Saunders (610-246-3621; [email protected] or Flossie Snyder (215-990-6251; [email protected] with any questions or to sign up as a chaperone for one or more of the dances. Dances start at 7 and end at 10 pm. Please note that there is no dance in December. WE ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS TO BE PRESENT AT THE END OF THE DANCE TO WRAP THINGS UP. The only requirements are to be present by 9:45, make sure all the dancers are picked up and lock two doors. That’s it!
In the event a dance needs to be cancelled because of bad weather or other school emergency, notice will be placed on the SKDS website on the afternoon of the dance. Dance dates and information are also listed under “Alumni” on the website. Please check stkatherinedayschool.org for cancellation notice.
Alumni News
Congratulations to Waggies by Maggie & Friends on their 15 year anniversary. Waggies is a non-profit dog treat company whose mission is to employ persons with disabilities. Waggies was started in 2007 by Maggie Corrigan, Class of 2005, and Elizabeth Nolan, Class of 2005, and their families. Check out their website Waggies.org, especially the history section to see how much they have grown. Waggies has successfully mentored a group from Pennsylvania and a group from New Jersey to launch dog treat businesses. It’s a great way to grow!
Good luck wishes to Bianca Pedulla, Class of 2010, on her new adventure making beautiful beaded bracelets. Bianca will open an Etsy shop soon. Bianca and her family held a successful Art Exhibit last September and sold Bianca’s artwork and jewelry. Look for Bianca’s Etsy shop in the near future. In the meantime, check out Bianca’s Facebook page at Creations by Bee and Instagram @creations.by.bee_.
In Memoriam
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Steve Palomino, Class of 2009, who passed away on May 4, 2022. Steve was a beloved SKDS student for many years. Steve was fun-loving and a loyal friend. He called Megan Penman, also Class of 2009, every Saturday since graduation. A donation was made on behalf of the Alumni Association to Steve’s family in his memory.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Lisa Cetroni who passed away on April 11, 2022 after a battle with cancer. Many of our alumni and parents will fondly remember Lisa from her days as Principal of SKDS. Lisa was warm and caring and touched many lives during her years at SKDS. A donation was made in her memory on behalf of the Alumni Association to St. Katherine’s Day School as requested in her obituary.

Looking ahead to Spring 2023, the prom will be held in May. Stay tuned for the date!
Dues
Alumni dues will remain at $5.00 which covers mailing expenses, memorial donations, remembrances, etc. Please make checks payable to Flossie Snyder and mail to 2323 Perot St., Philadelphia, PA 19130. Thank you. Please include a current phone number and email address. Many phone numbers in our directory are very old and no longer active, especially with the elimination of some landlines over the years.
We are always interested in news you have to share or information you think may be of interest to others, especially social events for our alumni. Just email, call or send the information to Flossie Snyder at any time.
A great big thank you to family and friends of Colleen Bruton, former SKDS student, who passed away in 2017.
They made a very generous donation to help keep our Alumni Association and the Dances going by sharing the proceeds from an annual fundraiser in Colleen's memory - Colydol's Day at the Beach. Sweet Colleen liked
walking on the beach and sure loved her Barbie dolls. The donation was a wonderful surprise and very much
appreciated.
